Landed House Painting Singapore – Exterior and Interior

Quick answer: we paint terrace houses, semi-detached houses and bungalows across Singapore, inside and out, with Nippon paint as standard. Landed homes vary a lot in size, height and wall condition, so we quote each house from photos or a site visit rather than a fixed package. WhatsApp us photos of each side of the house, the number of storeys and the rooms you want painted, and we will reply with a quote.

What we paint on landed homes

  • Exterior walls: front, side and back facades, porches and car porch ceilings.
  • Boundary and fence walls.
  • Interior walls and ceilings, including double-volume living rooms and stairwells.
  • Doors and door frames: +$50 per door and frame set, +$20 per frame (the same add-on prices as our price list).
  • Bathrooms and kitchens, with anti-mould paint where needed.

Exterior painting in Singapore’s weather

Outside walls take heavy rain, strong sun and constant humidity, which is why exterior paint fails differently from indoor paint. Signs your exterior needs repainting:

  • Chalking: a powdery residue comes off on your hand when you wipe the wall.
  • Black or green patches: mould and algae, common on shaded and north-facing walls.
  • Peeling, blistering or flaking paint, often where water gets behind it.
  • Hairline cracks that let rain into the wall.
  • Faded colour on the sides that get the afternoon sun.

A lasting exterior job depends more on preparation than on the paint itself. A good contractor should:

  1. clean off dirt, mould and algae, and let the wall dry fully;
  2. scrape away loose and peeling paint;
  3. fill cracks and patch damaged plaster;
  4. apply sealer on bare or patched areas so the topcoat bonds;
  5. apply two coats of exterior-grade paint made for sun and rain, not interior emulsion.

Exterior paint should not go onto a wet wall or just before rain. On a landed job, outdoor work is planned around the weather, and some rainy days may be spent on indoor work instead.

Terrace, semi-detached and bungalow: what changes

  • Terrace and semi-detached houses share a party wall with the neighbour. Painting the neighbour-facing side of a shared or boundary wall may need access from next door, so speak to your neighbour early.
  • Two- and three-storey facades need ladders, towers or scaffolding to reach safely. Tell us the number of storeys so the quote covers how the high walls will be reached.
  • Bungalows usually have more exterior wall area, roof eaves and boundary walls, so photos of every side help us quote accurately.

Choosing exterior colours

  • Lighter colours reflect more heat and show less fading than dark ones.
  • Pick colours from the Nippon Paint, Asian Paints or Benjamin Moore catalogues. Look at a sample on your own wall in daylight before deciding, because colours look stronger outdoors.
  • If you live in a landed estate with a management or residents’ committee, check whether it has guidelines on exterior colours.

Interior painting for landed homes

Inside, we use the same Nippon range as our HDB and condo jobs: Nippon Matex for ceilings and rooms that are not often touched, Nippon Vinilex 5000 for living areas, Nippon Odourless Premium if you are living in the house during the job, and Nippon Odourless EasyWash for hallways, kitchens and children’s rooms. For damp bathrooms and storerooms, see our anti-mould painting page.

How to get an accurate quote

Send us on WhatsApp:

  1. photos of each side of the house, plus any boundary walls you want painted;
  2. the number of storeys;
  3. which rooms you want painted inside, and the ceiling height if it is unusually high;
  4. close-up photos of any cracks, peeling, mould or water stains;
  5. your preferred timing.

We reply with a quote from your photos, or arrange to see the house if the job needs it.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to paint a landed house in Singapore?

It depends on the size of the house, the number of storeys, how much exterior wall there is and the condition of the walls, so we quote each landed home from photos or a visit. Doors and frames have fixed add-on prices (+$50 per door and frame set).

Can you paint the outside of my house when it is raining?

Exterior paint should only go onto dry walls, so outdoor work is planned around the weather. On rainy days we can work indoors if your job includes interior painting.

Do I need to tell my neighbour?

If you share a party wall or boundary wall, yes. Painting the side facing your neighbour may need access from their property.

Can you paint the inside and outside in one job?

Yes. Tell us which rooms and which outside walls you want painted, and we will quote them together.
